Philip Johnson, Dark Rooms

This house for us, represents the ultimate queer ideal.

The compound comprises the Glass House and the Brick House surrounded by nature with walking distance buildings that house the painting and sculpture collection as well as library, drawing room, a pool, a lake and other sculptural delights. Designed by Philip Johnson, inhabited by him and longtime partner David Whitney, this house witnessed and was part of innumerable historical, intimate, artistic and public bits of history.

During the Worm Moon of March 2020, we lived in the house as Philip and David lived it. Mesmerized by the silence and the moonlight penetrating through the glass, we experienced the house as a love hub, where two can fuse the same way the interior and exterior merge into one.
