Luis Barragán is a paradigmatic character in Mexico’s architecture and Art History. Barragán bought this Cadillac Coupe de Ville in 1957, year when he begins the construction of the Torres de Satélite, and used it until his death in 1988. The immobile car remains in his house garash. The state of conservation of the car is similar to many of the early constructions we documented. The Cadillac sensual and audacious shapes, gives us clues to decode the architect’s private life that is full of myths, taboo and unproven stories, that amounts to his life speculation and formulation of his own myth. Through close and obscure framing, we photograph the architect’s possession to create an intimate and silent portrait.

The series was awarded the acquisition price of Spanish Collection Purificación García in 2013.
